Syrah – 2020

Syrah, the emblematic red grape variety of the Rhone Valley, has been a great success in the warmer countries of the New World and has seduced winemakers and consumers alike by producing full-bodied wines with notes of red fruit and spices.

It is difficult to define the precise birthplace of Syrah: some say that it originated in the Iranian town of Shiraz, and was brought back from the Crusades by a knight who chose to recluse himself on the Hermitage hillside in the Rhône Valley. Others say that Syrah was introduced in the third century AD, during the Roman occupation. Finally, some people claim that Syrah is of French origin, and that it has always been a Rhone wine.
